Symptoms – Headaches

Headaches

Everyone suffers with a Headache at some point in their life, but for those with Fibro the pain can be especially cruel.

Fibro Sufferers report 3 major types of Headaches:

  • Muscle Tension Headaches
  • Migraines
  • A combination of the 2 (Migraine as a result of Muscle Tension)

Each Fibro Person will experience the Headaches differently, however common symptoms include:

  • Pulsing sharp or aching pain
  • Pain on one side of the Face only, extending into the Eye
  • Head Pain that radiates into the Neck and Shoulder Muscle
  • Pain along the Tender Points on the back of the Neck and Head
  • Sensitivity to Light, Sounds or Smells
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness

Muscle Tension Headaches

  • Caused by muscles in the body being clenched, this eventually radiates up into the Head and Neck resulting in the pain spreading all the way around the Skull and Face.

Migraines

  • These are Vascular and are caused by constriction of Blood Vessels in the Head. This can be made worse by 3 common symptoms of Fibro, Fatigue, Stress and Sleep Disorders. Also having low levels of Serotonin and Magnesium can add to the problem.

Combination Headaches

  • These result from Muscle Tension and a lack of certain Chemicals in the Body can make this type of Headache particularly debilitating for Fibro Sufferers.

While Fibro Headaches usually include some form of Head Pain there are many more symptoms that come along for the ride.
