Fibro Flares” we all suffer with them at some stage and slowly over time work out what our triggers are.

For those still trying to work that out here are 10 of the most common triggers that can cause a Flare up:

WEATHER CHANGES:

  • Any changes in the Barometric Pressure, Lightning Storms or Rapid Fluctuations. These Flares are usually short lived.

OVER EXERTION:

  • Trying to do too much on those days you are feeling well – in other words trying to play catch up.

STRESS:

  • Those flare ups triggered by stress, particularly Chronic Stress are usually the longest and most severe.

ILLNESS, INJURY, SURGERY:

  • Even a common cold can trigger a flare as our bodies are trying to fight off a virus. Again, healing from an injury or following surgery can also cause us to flare.

HORMONAL CHANGES:

  • Especially around the beginning of the Menstrual Cycle or during Menopause.

TEMPERATURE CHANGES:

  • Sensitivity to extreme hot or cold weather even for a short time can cause a flare up.

LACK OR CHANGES TO SLEEP:

  • Suffering with insomnia and not getting enough Restorative sleep when you are able to sleep has a real impact on your body, going into a flare.

TREATMENT CHANGES:

  • Changes in Medication results in your body needing to readjust can bring about flare ups.

TRAVELLING:

  • Disruption of your daily routine, changes in climate, travel delays crowded airports and stress are all triggers.

INDIVIDUAL SENSITIVITIES:

  • Sensitivity to bright lights, load noises, odours and allergies are all flare up triggers.
